While Enterprise is the fifth Star Trek series made, it takes place before any of the others. This story is set in Earth's future in the year 2151 and follows the adventures of the starship NX-01 Enterprise. The Enterprise is crewed completely by Humans with the exception of two: Doctor Phlox (a Denobulan) and Sub-Commander T'Pol (a Vulcan). The crew of the Enterprise are on a mission to explore new regions of space and to make peaceful contact with alien life forms, although not every species they meet share their peaceful intentions.

The Species section contains a biography which includes physical and mental characteristics on each species featured on Enterprise.
