Guidelines for Bouts

1) Please sign up on the calendar for the bouts you want to play in. If you discover that you can't make it to a bout you're signed up for, replace your name with the first backup's name.

2) Please be online in ICQ and in the lobby five minutes prior to the start time. Backups should be online in ICQ and in AcroChallenge five minutes prior.

3) We normally play by Couch Rules or Winner's Choice rules, although we are open to other styles.

4) Please let the bout captains deal with NTM's (non-team members) who enter the Zone room. If the NTM won't leave, and the captain asks the team to "please proceed", use the /complain feature to assist in booting the NTM. Please don't type "logged" or any other confirmation in the chat box, as this can alert the NTM, who can then avoid being booted.

5) Please let the bout captain handle the issue of substitutes.

6) If the bout captain calls "Time Out", please refrain from chat messages, entering acros, or voting until the bout captain advises you to resume.

7) If you are booted during a bout, please ICQ the bout captain as soon as possible with your status.

8) Never write acros that are considered cheating. If an acro has 3 letters, write a three word acro. Do not use _ or . to join words, and do not use run-on words.

9) Never comment on an acro until the voting period is over.

10) Never argue or be exceedingly competitive with a team member from the other team. Remember, Acrophobia is not a life-or-death proposition.

11) Never write acros that use the name of a team member or the team name itself. This is referred to as "pandering" and is inappropriate for team play.

12) Remember, bout reports are temporary things. The results will soon be forgotten, but the fun and friendship can last forever.
