By way of a bio, I think I’ll just deconstruct my nick, @DIME. Well, "@DIME" = [shift]+"2dime"; and "2dime" is a pair of dime(s). So all together that’s "pair of dime" plus [shift], and all deconstructed (you still with me here?) @DIME means Paradigm Shift. Too clever by half, wouldn’t you say?
A paradigm shift is essentially a new way of looking at the world, or at a specific problem. It means moving away from the status quo and doing (and thinking about things) differently. As an Anthropologist working for the Navajo Nation way over here in a forgotten corner of Arizona I have certainly come to look at the world differently. Different from the way I grew up in New England, and different from the way I was trained in the University. Anyway, that’s the story behind the nick, and I’m sticking to it.
