Australia v England
Melbourne - 21 June 2003
Haven't we been waiting a long time for this one. England on Australian soil, where they have never beaten the Wallabies. Away from their self-proclaimed 'fortress' at Twickenham. On a dry track under the closed roof of Telstra Dome. With, hopefully, a video referee capable of spotting a blatant knock-on (remember the 2000 match?) Against an Australian side not entirely crippled by injury.
In defeat, we have been forced to put up with the boorish and smug grin on the face of Clive Woodward. We have had to take our medicine, and console ourselves with the thought: "Just wait 'til you come down under, Clive."
Well, it's High Noon. If we are good enough, we will win. If we lose, then we will have lost to the better team.
