| Storyline: |
| This is another Jin Yong remakes. The pervious one was made in 1983 and was casted by Tony Leung and Andy Lau. This time TVB got Jordan Chan and Steven Ma to cast as Wei Xiao Bao and the emperor Kangxi. The story is more or less similar to the novel except for the ending. The whole story mainly talks about how Wei meet Kangxi and became bossom friends, and how he married his seven wives. There also so political events in between. |

| Funniest scene: |
| The scene which Wei and his "Sky Earth Sect" gang were making funny of his love rival in the temple. Wei's gang was pretending to be some villagers and they were trying to accuse him of raping a village girl (acted by one of the "Sky Earth Sect" guys !). Wei is trying very hard to be very good towards Vivian and making her believe that his love rival is a bad guy. This part is already really very, very funny. However, the funniest part is when a group of men dressed in those tribes clothings suddenly enter the temple and start speaking in Teochew ! They are actually Wei's friends who just happened to passby the temple, they too join in to make funny of Wei's love rival. The whole scene is extremely funny and the background music of this scene is very funny too. |

| Most Touching or Sad Scene: |
| There is not much sad or touching scene in this series, but the ending is quite touching. At the end of the series the "Sky Earth Sect" wants Wei to lead them to the Qing dynasty treasure. Wei does not wish to betray Kangxi but his wives and children are in the hands of the "Sky Earth Sect" he got no choice but to take his own fortune to build a fake treasure den for the "Sky Earth Sect". However, Kangxi misunderstands Wei and arrives at the fake treasure den to stop them. Kangxi even wants to kill Wei by bombing the treasure den but somehow Kangxi ended up in the treasure den when the soldiers are about to bomb the treasure den. Both Wei and Kangxi were very angry with each other and even had a fight in the den. However, when the soldiers bomb the treasure den Wei who is always afraid of pain and death uses his body to protect Kangxi. He even give Kangxi his protective vest. Later, when Kangxi regains his consciousness he knew that he had misunderstood Wei but it was too late as Wei and his wives and children had left him forever ! |

| Steven Ma and 陳 安 琪 I think they don't act as well as the others because they are still new. This is the first time Steven is taking up a major role and 安 琪 is still very green. |
| Most hateful or irritating character: |
| 郭 耀 明 He always plays such irritating roles. Actually I really quite pity him, he always gets this type of irritating role ! His image is fix ! However, I think he really did a great job in being irritating. |
| Which version is better ? Old or New ? |
| I personally love both versions. Reason ? Both Tony and Jordan are my idols ! Some said that Jordan is too ugly to be Wei Xiao Bao and it is not very convincing that Jordan is able to "charm" seven wives with this kind of looks. I must agree that Jordan is not as good looking as Tony. But , Wei Xiao Bao does not use his looks to chase his seven wives ! And according to the novel Wei Xiao Bao should not be good looking, in this case Jordan is actually a better choice as compared to Tony ! However, I do think that Jordan may be too old for this role. Wei Xiao Bao should be younger according to the novel. He is even young than most of his wives ! In this case, Tony is a better choice than Jordan. (Tony is younger than Jordan when he made the series.) On the whole I think both the old and new versions are worth watching ! |
