The Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen

Crucifix Apostles Creed will be featuring short biographies of Catholic Saints on their Feast Days.
The Apostles Creed prayer you see here was taken from a little booklet entitled "Everyday Catholic Prayers", a Redemptorist Pastoral Publication from Liguori Publications, 1979.(Imprimatur:John N. Wurm, S.T.D.,Ph.D.,Vicar General, Archdiocese of St. Louis.)

Fall 2009
Enjoy this glorious SUMMER!

New Prayer Requests: added September 24, 2009
Date may be incorrect: often a prayer request is added without date update.
Welcome to this Roman Catholic Site!!

Our CATHOLIC SCHOOLS need your PRAYERS!

No matter where you live in the United States you will find local Catholic schools closing in record numbers. Now our Catholic churches have begun to close, as well. Many communities find that six Catholic churches are combining into ONE church!

The reasons for this are many, but first and foremost it is the shortage of priests and religious to run these Churches. Please PRAY for our priests and for vocations. Secondly, PRAY for the return of our young to Mass. Thirdly, PRAY that our Catholic schools may be reopened through stewardship of our wealthier Catholics.

PRAYER FOR EMPLOYMENT - There are so many out of work and in danger of losing their homes. Please pray!

We at Apostles Creed cannot say enough about this wonderful FREE little bi-monthly Catholic magazine.

This modest booklet has been published by the Marianhill Fathers of Detroit, Michigan since 1938 and promotes devotion to God.
Receiving this booklet always cheers up an ordinary day. It is filled with:

Father Benedict Groeschel Interview: Near Death, Nearer to Christ (IngatiousInsight.com)
If you have never heard of Father Benedict Groeschel, please click on the above link. The popular host of EWTN's show (7PM each Sunday) granted the above interview about a year after his near fatal accident in 2004. The beloved, bearded monk was struck by a car in Orlando, Florida at an airport. Fr. Groeschel was clinically dead for nearly 27 minutes, and doctors were prepared to give up except for the pleas by Father Lynch, who was with Father at the time of his accident. Benedict Groeschel's subsequent miraculous recovery resulted in another book: Praying to Our Lord Jesus Christ.

If you have never seen, heard or read Fr. Benedict Groeschel, who has a Ph.D in Psychology, you don't know what you are missing. Although we are the modest monk would disagree, he makes us feel that we are watching a saint on earth. You can catch him weekly on EWTN on his latest show, called Sunday Night Live

Fatima

During the months of May through October, 1917, on the 13th of each month at noon, Our Lady appeared to three shepherd children. News of the apparations spread, and by the sixth month, when a great miracle was promised by Our Lady, there were, my most estimates, over 100,000 pilgrims to witness the great Miracle of the Sun.
We at ApostlesCreed.com are very familiar with the story of Our Lady's appearance to three children (Jacinta, Francesco and Lucia) at Fatima (Portugal) during May - October 1917.

As Our Lady told the children, Jacinta and Francesco entered into the Kingdom of Heaven within a very short (two years) time after the last apparition. Lucia, as Our Lady stated, was to stay here for "some time" to spread the message - which mainly was to spread the saying of the "beads", or Rosary.

Lucia, who spent most of her life as a cloistered Carmelite nun, passed away just this past February 13, 2005. She was one month short of her 98th birthday.

If you have forgotten the wonderful story of Fatima, please refamiliarize yourself with it. It is wonderful and inspiring. You can learn more about Fatima at www.BLUEARMY.com, which helps spread the story of Our Lady of Fatima and the message which our Heavenly Mother requested be spread far and wide.
