Lionhead FAQ
Q. How can you tell if a Lionhead rabbit is showable?
A. You should look at the Working Standard for the Lionhead Rabbit, any that are a good match are showable. [A link to the Standard is on the Main page.]
Q. How big do Lionhead Rabbits get?
A. I myself have seen them anywhere between 2 and 4 pounds, but the American Standard states that a Lionhead should be between 1 1/2
pounds to 3 1/4 as a junior, once reaching senior they should be 3 1/2 pounds to 3 3/4 pounds.
Q. How often do you need to brush them?
A. They need to be brushed as often as once a week to every day, it mainly depends on how much Wool they have, the ones with more/longer wool need to be brushed more often then the ones with less.  I've noticed that it's normally between the ears and the skirting that needs to be brushed out more often.
Q. What is Skirting on a Lionhead Rabbit?
A. Skirting is the Wool on the hind flanks on the rabbit. normally a DoubleMane Rabbit has alot more skirting then a SingleMane, and a junior will have more then a senior.
Q. Do Show Rabbits need to be Tattoed to show.
A. Yes they do need to be Tattoed, in some rabbit breeds they start to look alot alike, And the Tattoo is sometimes the only way to tell the Rabbits apart.
