(251) 666-2792A guide for taking your measurements For the sake of modesty, our model is shown in full attire. You, of course, will be taking your measurements over the proper undergarments which you would normally wear under your uniform. If a vest is usually part of your attire, I would suggest taking your measurements over it also. Shrinkage is never a problem since we pre-wash and heat dry all fabrics before a garment is cut. Therefore, you need not take it into account when taking your measurements.1.Chest – Take a good deep breath and measure around the fullest part of your chest.
2.Waist – Our trousers ride high on the waist, about an inch above the navel.
This measurement should be taken right at the level of your navel.3. Hip – Make certain the tape is level in front and back.
Take your measurement at the fullest part of your hips.4. Inseam – Hold the tape measure well into the crotch and measure down the inseam to
the desired length. If you prefer your trousers be left unhemmed, please make
a note of that.5. Outseam – Measure from the waist to the desired length.
6. Upper chest – Measure across the front of your chest where the fronts of your arm
sockets join the torso.7. Neckband – Measure around your neck at the Adam’s apple.
8. Shoulder – Taken from the base of your neck
(if you shrug your shoulder you will feel the crease) to the tip of the shoulder bone
(raise your arm to feel this joint).9. Desired Sleeve Length – Beginning at the point where you ended your shoulder
measurement, measure straight down your arm to about two or so inches
below the crease of the wrist.10. Shoulder Breadth – Measure from the points where your arms join at the torso,
there is usually a small crease there just above the arm pit area
when your arms are down at your side.11. Front Length Neck to Waist – Place the tape measure right at the hollow in your neck
where your collar bones meet, then measure straight down to the navel.12. Back Length Neck to Waist – Bend your neck back to feel the crease at the base of
the neck, measure from that point to your natural waist line.
This is not the finished jacket length,
we allow for that depending on the type of jacket being made.13. Underarm to Waist – Measure here by placing two fingers directly under one’s clean
arm pit. Place the tape measure the width of two fingers below the deepest
part of the arm pit ending at the natural waist. It is important that the arm scye
be high under the arm, yet still not too constricting, as this prevents the jacket
from riding up when the arm is raised, keeping the accoutrements from slipping
under the jacket.IMPORTANT
Make note of any special fitting needs, or problem areas you may have,
on your measurement chart.
