She is shown above after winning a 1961 400-yard race at Sunland Park, NM (with trainer Ted Wells Jr. at her head and Elbert Minchey up). In 5 years of racing, Lena's Bar started 76 times, winning 24, placing second 18 times and third 10 times. She won over $28,000 and retired sound. "Lena's Bar" was the dam of five foals. All five were race winners with four attaining speed indexes of 100+ and one achieving a speed index of 90+. "Lena's Bar" died prematurely at the age of 14 yrs after a 9-month bout with a bladder disease.
