Spring 2001 POTPOURRI
An aromatic mixture of dried flowers, leaves, sweet herbs and spices. If potpourri is literally translated from the French, it means "rotten pot".
A well-made potpourri should last 50 years. In the early years potpourri had an essential purpose - to sweeten the air that was musty and ill-smelling from damp weather and primitive sanitation conditions. Drye roses, put to the nose to smell do comfort the braine and harte and quenched spirits. - 1550 Herbal
