| 1/2 potato per person butter salt pepper |

| Peel potatoes and split in half. With flat side down, slice thin. Do not separate slices. Slide knife blade under each potato half and transfer intact to buttered baking dish. Gently press the top of each potato half to slightly separate the slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, brush with melted butter. Cover pan with foil and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Uncover and bake 15 minutes longer or until brown. |
