| Cancer - June 23rd - July 22nd Summer is here! Summer arrived at 5:26 am, Wednesday, June 21. Many years ago Summer Solstice was a time of great celebrations. You can tell it is summer by the smell and taste of Oregon strawberries. Father's Day has come and gone, and there have been birthdays, graduations, and anniversaries to celebrate. Sister Gail celebrated a significant birthday. Neighbor Deann graduated from Oregon State and friends E.Jay and Len Greger will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 24th. Daughter Cindy had vascular surgery on June 6th, and done again on June 8th. She is now home and healing. We returned June 3rd from a trip to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Cape Breton Island. Thirteen of us from McMinnville met our tour bus, guide, and several more travelers in Halifax. |
| More MAY 2006 McMinnville's U.F.O. Festival is over for this year. This is the second largest Alien Festival in the nation. This year there was a parade, an alien pet costume parade, an Ufology workshop and an alien costume ball. Even a website - ufofest.com. McMenamin's Hotel Oregon just finished their rooftop remodel in time. Come to McMinnville for a drink on the rooftop of Hotel Oregon - tis a spectacular view of McMinnville and surrounding area. On May 11, 1950 a farm couple south of McMinnville spotted and photographed a strange object in the sky. The photo eventually appeared on the cover of Life magazine, June 26, 1950.
