If there's a game that is unique, good and special is The Sims, a tale that started in 2000 when Will Wright smoked a so good one that came with this great idea hahaha, then lots of expansions came out so you won't get bored of giving the same orders to the same people with the same objects all the time, getting new clothes, new faces, new objects, new interactions, new ambiences and new places. After dominating the world for 3 years, Will Wright smoked an even better one and said "I'm too fucking cool for this, man" and told to his people "Let's make another Sims, not an expansion, that would be too crappy, let's use real 3D and let's dominate this world and Mars too!" and so, The Sims 2 saw the light, now with week days, age stages (that means, dying of elderly and kids growing up), customizable faces and much more, the gameplay was enhanced in a so good way that you think "I can't believe that I thought The Sims was great!", with all the expansions, you can make of this game a very great and funny experience, having variety of objects, places, ambiences, challenges, situations and interactions that will keep you busy the whole day, guaranteed!
My The Sims 2 Experience
For Xmas 2005 my brother gave to me a game that passed my expectatives by faaaar too much! It said The Sims 2 and I thought "Holy shit! This must be what I was waiting for!", I opened that thing and in there I saw 4 fucking CDs! "Holy crap! This will take years to install" (It was the first time I saw 4 CDs for a game), but Maxis took care so much about it that created a minigame to have fun while you were installing the game, I finished installing it and the intro video said everything, it was looking far too great, then started loading and those scrolling text in the bottom of the screen inmediately reminded you of The Sims 1, after that, I did those tutorials, entered and stuff, created a family (to be more precise, I created myself (C'mon! Everybody creates him/herself at least once in that game!)) and I started playing, it was difficult in a beggining get used to that cool new 3D engine, but it was fun. My first work on The Sims 2 was making T-Shirts, but it was not like The Sims, where you could do something with Paint and it would look cool anyway, the detail was so high here that you needed something better, I picked up Photoshop.
After I got University and there was a guitar there, so bad there was just one model and it was too Jazz for me, but again, The Sims 2 is a relatively easy to mod game, so I found out about ModTheSims2, a great page where you can find lots of custom made stuff, high-quality great stuff, there I found many different guitars, and I did some recolors for them, the first one, was a greenish tone of one recolor for the ESP Explorer created by Atavera, be sure to check this stuff out, is looking cool!
Have fun! |

About the "Negative" stuff: Is basically the texture, but with inverted colors, if you mix the skin tone, the eyes and the hair you will get something really interesting, individually it doesn't work that well, but mixed is great!
Recolors: ESP FX-400 Like - ESP Explorer Glasscaster - Fender Stratocaster Sims 1 Guitar - Fender Stratocaster Camouflage ESP - Ibanez RG (Yeah, it's an ESP with a body of a Ibanez, but I wanted it to look like Hanneman's ESP) Urban Camo - Ibanez Gem Completely Black Alexi Laiho ESP Green-Blue cool style - Yamaha <something> (I think is the only Yamaha guitar in MTS2)
About the Recolors: To make recolors work, you need a mesh first, meshes are like the 3D polygons that create a shape programmed to behave like certain object, these meshes can be found in ModTheSims2 (all the recolors use meshes I found there), just search for it and you will shortly find it.
I will be adding more stuff to the list after, and uploading them even after, maybe I will have to upload all the stuff to FileFront or MTS2 because I got no enough storage in this server. |
