For the upcoming release of Urban Legends: Final Cut on September 22nd, AskMen.com
got together with Eva Mendes, star of the movie. The film is about a bunch of high school
students working on a film project on, you guessed it, urban legends. The problem is that
members of the cast keep getting killed, just like in the fabled urban legends.
We asked Eva (the sexy brunette on the right) to answer a bunch of quirky and pertinent
questions on everything from her rise to fame to her preference between boxer and briefs.
Here is what Ms. Mendes had to say.

AskMen: What was your experience like while filming the movie? Did you actually get
scared at any point?

Eva: No, I didn't get scared, but I got excited. I had my first "girl on girl" screen kiss.
Now that was fun.

AskMen: How did you land the role in the movie? Was it a difficult audition?

Eva: Every audition is difficult for me, but this one was one of the smoother ones. I went
in, did my "Eva" thing and I think we all knew it was a role I could make something of.

AskMen: Do you have anything in common with your character, Vanessa?

Eva: Yes, we both have attitude, distinct style and love women.

AskMen: Do you like classic horror movies like A Nightmare On Elm Street and Friday
the 13th ?

Eva: Yes, I love horror movies. The Shining (Kubrick) is my favorite.

AskMen: What's the most bizarre urban legend you've ever heard of?

Eva: Bloody Mary. I used to go looking for her when I was little, in the bathroom with
the lights off, and then I'd swear to my friends that she came and attacked me.

AskMen: You took up acting seriously about two years ago. You've already starred with
Judge Reinhold in My Brother The Pig, A Night At The Roxbury and now Urban Legends
2. How did you get so far, so fast?

Eva: I've been working my butt off! I literally changed my life (almost 3 years ago). I was
going to college studying marketing. Then I met a manager randomly and well -- you
know the story. I quit school and took up acting.

AskMen: How did you enjoy working with Chris Kattan and Will Ferrell on A Night At
The Roxbury?

Eva: They're absolutely hysterical and so sweet. Molly Shannon is the coolest chick I've
met. It was only my second job in the business, and seeing them work and have fun made
me decide that I could do it too.

AskMen: Which actor would you most like to work with?

Eva: I think more in terms of directors a few of my favorites are Steven Soderbergh,
Pedro Almodovar, Mike Lee, and Luc Besson.

AskMen: What about any upcoming movies, are you working on any other projects at the
moment?

Eva: Right now, I'm hanging out, working on a children's book and waiting for that
special project to come up. I'm careful enough not to fall into stereotypes, so I want to
choose my next project carefully. But I'm in no hurry.

AskMen: How do you feel about on-screen love sessions? Are you looking forward to
doing a love scene in the future?

Eva: On-screen love scenes are nerve-wracking! I've had to do those kinds of scenes with
guys before and honestly it's uncomfortable. But doing them with girls is totally different.
It's fun! It goes back to the play yard mentality: guys can be yucky, and girls are sweet,
soft and smell good.

AskMen: Would you turn down a movie if a nude scene was required in the script?

Eva: It depends. Nudity, when it's relevant to the plot, is fine. I hate when you see
actresses in a love scene and the sheet is placed right over their chest! It's so obvious and
unnatural. But then again, if they want [breasts] just for the sake of showing [breasts],
then no.

AskMen: If you weren't acting, what would you be doing?

Eva: Interior design. It's my life, making things beautiful and efficient.

AskMen: If you had the choice, what would you prefer: being rich or famous?

Eva: Rich, rich, rich. Fame is for the insecure.

AskMen: Where do you see yourself in five years?

Eva: In five years? I see myself doing whatever it is I want to do at that time.

AskMen: What do you like to do to relax and get away from the crazy celebrity lifestyle?

Eva: Well, I definitely don't have the celebrity lifestyle -- but when I want to go away, I
go up north (Big Sur) and hike.

AskMen: Are you currently seeing anybody your fans would like to know about?

Eva: No.

AskMen: What is the most important quality that a man must possess to be with you?
Basically, what do you like about guys?

Eva: Self-confidence, rationale, ambition, and lovability. Oh, and he has to be an Ayn
Rand fan.

AskMen: What do you prefer, boxers or briefs?

Eva: Neither, bare.

AskMen: What is your biggest turnoff?

Eva: Men who can't dress themselves or hold their alcohol.

AskMen: What is the worst pickup line you have ever heard?

Eva: Didn't I meet you at my cousin's Bar Mitzvah?

AskMen: If a man wants to impress you, what would be the perfect date?

Eva: I hate those typical dinner/movie dates. Let's smoke, listen to music and hang. Oh
yeah, order a big meal, maybe sushi. Look at pictures, fly up to San Francisco for one
afternoon. I'm full of ideas. I could go on forever! Hiking, biking, skiing, mountain
climbing

Thanks for the time together Eva. AskMen.com wishes you the best of luck with Urban
Legends: Final Cut. Put on your fancy dress and we'll see at the premiere!
