1995-96 Chicago Bulls (72-10)
Coach: Phil Jackson
In the previous season, guard Michael Jordan returned in March 1995. However, the Bulls lost to Orlando in the 2nd round. So Jordan, along with Scottie Pippen, Phil Jackson, and others, were hungry to win their 4th title in the decade. The Bulls flew out of the gate by winning their first 11 games. After a Seattle loss, they won 31 of their next 32. Jordan ended up winning an MVP and a scoring championship. The Bulls dethroned the 1971-72 Lakers' 69-13 record by finishing with a 72-10 record, the best record ever.
After sweeping the Miami Heat in the first round, the Bulls dispatched the Knicks in five games. Now, it was time for revenge by facing the Orlando Magic in the East Finals. They swept the defending East Champions. Now, it was time to face the Sonics in the NBA Finals. The Sonics won 64 games with the best record in the West. Just as it appeared that the Bulls were going to sweep Seattle, the Sonics won games 4 and 5. On Father's Day, game 6 was held. The Bulls won that game to win their 4th championship of the decade. Jordan dedicated his Finals MVP award to his late father.
