Tips on photography
So you wanna learn about photography? Actually it's not an easy thing to learn but also it's not too difficult .All you have to do is read a lot, shoot a lot and jot down comments about each photo you take such as lighting, shutter speed and the lens u used.
Exposure:
It's the most tough thing about photography which you'll have to learn first before learning any thing about combination and all that stuff .Exposure is affected by 2 major things: shutter speed and camera's eye value .You can't keep your eyes wide open when you're looking at the sun, so does your camera ! When you're shooting in direct sunlight you have to determine several things .If you're facing the sun close the camera's eye as much as you can and choose a speed shutter value ,say 1/250 or 1/125 for instance and a camera's eye of 16 or 11 .But if you're shooting in indirect sunlight you gotta choose an intermediate shutter speed ,say 1/60 and camera's eye of 5.6 or 8 .Evening is much more different .You gotta choose a slow shutter speed (less than 1/60) but you gotta use a tripod or hold ur breath and freeze or u'll get a blur! Having Parkinson is surely another thing !
You might have guessed that the point of exposure is to let the film have the chance to be exposed to an appropriate amount of light . If you were wrong about the exact value of both shutter speed and camera's eye you'll get either a dark photo or an over-exposed one. Some photographers (even professionals )use a meter either built in the camera or a single one to assure they chose the right values .So don't get frustrated if u get dark or over exposed photos coz it's really hard to determine them exactly .But if u shoot a lot and learn from your mistakes you'll gradually make lesser mistakes .This the main essence about photography ,learning from mistakes.
Combination :
Actually I don't believe this thing can be taught or learnt ! It's a sense and a feeling .It's also an opinion .If you tell 20 photographers to shoot the same tree, each will give you a different photo !
Candid photography :
Candid photography means to take photos of people without their permission or attention ! so u can get a natural photo .The zoom lens is required for obvious reasons ! what? you don't know why you have to use a zoom?!! Then you oughtn't read the rest of this tutorial then ! You can take photos of people walking in streets ,talking to each others or even fighting .But the hardest thing about this issue is that you gott make a critical decision fast .There's no time to think about shutter or camera's eye or 2 turn around the subject so you can have a better view. If u think, you'll just loose your precious photo !
Try as best as you can to shoot people without noticing you especially the poor so you don't hurt their feelings .Also don't ever get afraid or you'll get a blurry photo ,they won't bite you !
Still life:
The most easiest at all ! Subjects stand before you, u have enough time to make your decision and to turn around a subject to determine the best view .Some photographers take about 15-30 minutes to shoot still-life objects !
