Kaya was born June 8, 2001, the only surviving girl in the litter. Although, she was the runt of the litter she was very scrappy with her brothers.
We picked her up on July 21, 2001. My friend Wendy, a Veterinarian Technician, found her for us. Tina, Wendy's co-worker, took her mother in when she was pregnant. Kaya and her brothers spent their days at the Vet and their evenings with Tina.
We were really lucky to get her because all the attention from her mother, brothers, Tina, and the vet office workers has made her very loving. She seems to have had no problem at all adjusting to her new home and her new brother.
Franklin doesn't know what to make of her but he licks her and plays very gently with her. She thinks he is holding out on her, and is constantly trying to get milk from him.
After having spent a very sleepless night, we've come up with a strategy: keep her busy as much as possible during the day so she sleeps at night. We had forgotten how tiny, how cute, and how much work kittens are.
Hope everyone can visit her soon. |
