Dry Season
The dry season is from December to May and turns out to be the most common expectation when anyone decides to travel to Costa Rica.

Rainy Season
From June to November the rain will be showering the entire country; However, between June and July the rain stops and the sun shines. This period is called Veranillo de San Juan" (Saint John's short summer).
October usually is the time when the rain appears more frequently and for longer periods. However, in the Caribbean area the rain decreases significantly and this area becomes one of the most attractive during the month of October.
This season is special for the natural observers, since in the country there are more than twenty protected areas between tropical and rain Forest.
Eventhough the rain usually falls for a few hours in the afternoons, you will still be able to enjoy many aquatic activities and visit many places in the mornings.
