The following poem is a song written by Jim, Dan and
Tad. They deal here with the loss of their parents and how they suffer under
this.
You had thousand dreams,
When you were a child –
You were gonna have the best life of
all!
You felt so free,
The world was wide –
But then suddenly there arose a wall.
Black shadows came over you
And turned your day into night.
You no longer knew what you shall do –
Together with your parents you also lost
your light.
Mama! You know I’ll miss you forever…
Papa! In my heart we’re always together…
Thank you for your honest love.
Full of tears I look above
To the stars, shining on the endless
sky.
And I feel you’re still by my side…
Loss is hard when nothing stays,
And all you do is live senseless days.
People try to help you –
Aut what are they able to do?
Your beloved parents they can’t bring
back,
In your heart remains an
everlasting lack.
When the light of your life suddenly
disappears
There’s nothing left behing than despair
and tears.
All your joy is destroyed by the memory
Of happy days which will never again be.
Mama! I hope you know I’ll miss you
forever…
Papa! In my heart we’re always together…
Thank you for your honest love.
Full of tears I look above
To the stars, shining on the endless
sky.
And I feel, you’re still by my side…
And when I look up to where you may be
I hope I’m the son you expected to see…
quick note: The light that leaves is a symbol for all
the good things the
boys’ parents brought into their lifes and made it worth
living: the joy,
the hope, the safety, the understanding, the
assistance – the love.
You
saw him in through the mist of morning light.
His
wide timid eyes were darkened by fright.
He
shook as if the wood’s were made of ice.
He
flinched when you got nearer him,
Demons
of past, of a time so grim
And
you could see his fear and mistrust rise.
And
you thought, Boy, who broke your little heart?
You
touched him softly but he cringed
Like
an angel curling up broken wings,
Their
falling feathers notes in a symphony of pain.
You
spoke gently to him, tried to chase the demons away,
But
frightening memories are demons which stay
And
his dumb tears fell down onto the muddy lane.
And
you thought, Boy, who broke your little heart?
Your
sad little heart…
Time
passed by, he became a brother and son,
An
up-growing man of honour and education.
But
still he fears – it will take a while…
He’s
thankful for every day,
For
every lovely word they say.
And
you can even see a little smile…
And you think, God, may there be a healing
for his little heart,
The person relating this ‘story’ is something like a silent observer of Jim’s life. (I hope it was noticeable the little boy was Jim.) This woman meets Jim when he is around ten during a walk in the woods on a morning in spring. She tries to help Jim but has no chance to do. This woman watches Jim for the following years, seeing how he at the end finds a family at the Wheelers (became Honey’s brother and the Wheeler’s son).
It’s somewhat like a journey through time through Jim’s younger past.
