History
Here is a brief history on the Dryden-based band and how it all started...
The band as it is known today started sometime in Febuary 2005. We were invited to open at the Dryden High School for The Seventh Affair who was puting on a show there. At the time...Austin, Dula, and another friend were playing together. Austin and Dula had been jamming for about 2 years with one guitar through a little Peavey 15 watt amp and drums.  The first song they learned was
Nirvana - Smells like Teen Sprit.  After a while, they got a friend to play bass for them and they were playing in Dula's basement.  They were playing in Dula's basement on and off for about a year without vocals, trying to butcher their way through covers.  At times, Drew and Zabel would play with them, but never on a regular basis.  After a while, Drew started filling in more and more.  It was eventually decided that Drew would be playing bass at the concert and from there on out.  Jam sessions moved to Austin's basement where the three would play almost every day.  About a week before the concert at the school, Zabel joined to add another guitarist to the group, and Cost of Desire was formed.  They played every day for the rest of the week learning 4 cover songs and making 1 original (Answer My Questions), which was written a while before, but never really played right or with lyrics.  Then on May 9th they rocked the High School fairly decently.  They continued playing and writing songs.  They got a gig at The Polar Palace in Lapeer on April 23rd and prepared for it writing 2 more songs and learning 3 more covers.  And now, the legacy still continues...
