A modern lobby with unusual lighting, vivid colours and geometric patterns sets the edgy tone for Cosmo, a new condominium by Menkes. "The lobby is a welcoming statement for the building. It reminds me of a boutique hotel and nightclub," says Mimi Ng, director of marketing at Menkes. "We put a great deal of attention into the lobby details. This is the first thing residents and guests see and we wanted to be sure the lobby space at Cosmo would be something residents would be proud to show guests."
The funky red colour and light display reflect the buyer demographics for Cosmo first-time buyers in their 20s and 30s.
The model suite, designed by Bryon Patton of Bryon Patton & Associates, delves further into this clean, urban style. The two-bedroom model suite combines soft neutrals with bold hues of lime and burnt orange. Two grey and silver 23-storey towers house the 566 Cosmo suites. With both phases nearing completion, and residents of phase 1 moving in, opportunities are becoming limited.
Phase 2 will begin occupancy in mid-March and there are just 40 suites left in the two buildings. "The floor plans for each building are essentially the same," Ng says. "All the units left are two bedroom and two bedroom-plus-den plans. The smallest two-bedroom available is 780 square feet for $258,990. The largest is 965 square feet."
The suites include six appliances, Signature Collection kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, granite kitchen countertops, engineered wood flooring, individually controlled heating and air conditioning.
The two buildings are linked by the lobby with 24-hour concierge. The ground floor Cosmo Club, with exercise room, indoor pool, and sauna in phase 2 is shared by both towers.
One of the biggest selling features Ng is seeing is the location right on the Sheppard subway line.
The Cosmo sales centre is located at 32 Glendora Avenue one block south of Sheppard Ave., east of Yonge St. Hours are Monday to Thursday noon to 6 p.m. and weekends from noon to 5 p.m. Call 416-730-1600 or visit
