A Nebula is an intersteller gas or dust cloud that can be seen in light because it is a dark hole, luminous band or patch in front of a brighter background. Keep in mind, many nebulae are named purely by there appearences, for example, the hourse-head nebulae to the left. There are two, main types of Nebulaes. Planetary Nebulae: usally circle or hour-glass shape, this occurs when a small star is the center of the nebulae making the appearence of a planet look. Reflection Nebulae: most frequent; diffused of dust and gas clouds in an interstellar matter.
