BEAM- Catherine Beam was born in 1799 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She was a widow when she married Christian Blocher who was born in 1806 in Manheim County, PA. They moved to Clarence, Erie County, New York where they had five children; David N., Peter C., Christian, Jr., and Catherine A.. After the death of Christian in 1852, it is believed that she moved to Elkhart County, Indiana to live with her son, Christian, and that she died there.
BLOCHER-Johannes Blocher came to America as a teenager with his brother, Micheal, from Wertenberg, Germany. They arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 3, 1753. The name of his wife is not known, but he had at least one son, John Blocher, born in 1764 in Lancaster County, PA, who married (Martha) Magdelena Frick.
DOMEDIAN-Frederick Domedion was born in 1853. He married Mary Huber, born in 1855. He lived in Buffalo, New York and it is believed that he was a barber. He died in Buffalo in 1936. We do not know who his parents were.
EMERLING-Phillip Emerling II was born in Billigheim, Germany in 1793, son of Phillip Emerling and Regina Voss. He married Catherine Casper, born in Salmbach, France in 1792, daughter of Jean (John) Casper and Elizabeth Uhl. They arrived in America in July 1831 with six children and traveled up the Erie Canal to settle in Erie County, New York. The name of the ship that they traveled on from Europe to New York is not known.
FRICK-Gorius (Gregor) Frick was born in Switzerland and married Elizabeth Huber; Hans Frick married Christina Suter; Heinrich Frick, Jr. (born in Germany) married (?) Barbara Huber; Jacon Frick married Mary Stroheim; Jacon Frick, Jr. married Magdelena Herr; Magdelena (Martha) Frick (born in America) married John Blocher.
FURLONG-John Thomas Furlong was born June 21, 1837 in County Wexford, Leinster Province, Ireland, the son af Thomas and Anna T. Furlong. He came to America in 1856 and worked as a stone mason. He married Margaret Galloway, the daughter of John and Margaret Galloway, born in County Carlow, Leinster Province, Ireland on January 16, 1843. They settled in Niagara County, New York where he bought a farm on West Avenue in Sanborn. The family later moved to Buffalo, NY and ten months later John died. Margaret died in Buffalo in 1906.
HACKETT-James Henry Guckian (Hackett) was born in Ireland about 1816. He married Katherine Hanley, born in Ireland in 1826. They were wed January 27, 1845 at Kiltoghert Parish , Ardagh Diocese, County Leitrim. They had two daughters born in Ireland; Jean, born February 19, 1846, and Celia F., born December 29, 1847. The couple came to America about 1849. They were in the 1850 census of Rochester, New York with celia and their son, John Henry Hackett, born May 4, 1850. Jean was not with them and they had changed their name to Hackett. They had six other children born in the US.
