This is a website dedicated to the music and life of Rosemarie
Precht, also known as Cosa Rosa.
As her music was in German, and is only widely known in German
speaking countries, I hope to help bring her to a wider, English speaking
audience. In time I hope to have lyrics, with English translations, reviews,
photos and short samples of her music here, as well as covering the role
her partner, (both in life and in music), Reinhold Heil, played in her
music. In fact, although she is widely known as Cosa Rosa, that was in
fact originally intended to be the name of the duo she formed with Reinhold.
Rosemarie was born on 3rd May, 1952, and tragically, died of
stomach cancer on 31st January, 1991, taking not only a loved one from
her friends and family, but a musical talent from the world, just as she
had established herself.
Comment - Sunday, May 3rd, 2009: Today, Rosemarie would
have been 57. The first time her birthday has come by since this site opened.
In the Song "Morgens Um Vier" she sings "irgendwann im mai, mein geburtstag,
ein sonnentag" Which means "sometime in May, my birthday, a sunny day"
and so, on this day, I will play this song every year, and celebrate the
life of one of the great talents, one who was gone too soon.
