THE POET'S LIFE

The soul tattered and torn
The murder of the unborn
The hallowed ways
The end of our days
The spiral into madness
The soul lost in sadness
The longing for another
The brother hating brother
The decay of man
The hands full of sand
The rot in the eye
The plans gone awry
The friends numbering fewer
The life flushed down the sewer
The times have come
The wretched homeless bum
The need to touch
The loss of much
The clinging to life
The journey full of strife
The anger we hold
The heart growing cold
The ramblings of the insane
The mutterings of the inane
The last virginal soul to fall
The child huddled in a ball
The prose of the unloved
The body pushed and shoved
The face in the mirror
The end becoming clearer
The finger on the trigger
The grave becoming bigger
The echo of the gun
The poet's life at last...........done
I very much felt the need to write  The Poet's Life. I'm not sure why but it was there and it needed to come out.
