My thoughts and soul I let take flight
I am searching for the contentment of the past
The love I thought would always last
As I allow myself the moment of weakness to see
The person I had strove to be
I realize that the love was real
Your unconditional love the seal
How is it you never look at all of your needs
That the other parts of love required recedes
Then one day you look at how you feel
That it seems you are no longer real
I feel almost empty inside with the other lost
That your love no longer feels fulfilled and at what cost
And here I sit questioning where it went
The love and the peace or was it spent
Did I have it at one time and forget its importance
Or did I never notice enough its absence
I look to the heavens above for guidance and peace
Hoping in my heart I will no long find caprice
Is having all my needs met
Going to cause me to continue to fret
The smile comes from within and shines without
Because I know I am worth more no doubt
