Turn Around

Summary: After discovering Kathryn and Sebastian's relationship Tiffani vows to put an end to it.

Chapter 16: Wedding Day Blues

"Well I'm waiting" Tiffani yelled impatiently.

At the site of her angry mother Kathryn and I stood there speechless unsure of what to say. What could we say? It isn't what it looks like? It was exactly what it looked like.

Kathryn was still gripping the edge of my coat as she looked at me for answers. Finally she said "mother we...were...just..."

"This is ridiculous" I sighed "Tiffani I'm in love with your daughter."

Even though I had told her a hundred times before Kathryn still looked stunned when I said it. However she didn't look as half as surprised as her mother. Gawking at her daughter in shock she gasped "what?"

Before Kathryn could get a word out I continued. "Yes Tiffani I love Kathryn and now seeing as there will be no wedding I don't really for see a problem."

"You don't see a problem?" She asked stepping closer to me "have you lost your mind? You are not going anywhere near my daughter."

With that Tiffani grabbed Kathryn roughly by the arm and dragged her into the living room where my father was standing in silence watching everything unfold. "Let go of me!" Kathryn yelled as she struggled to pull away.

Tiffani paid her daughter no mind and instead turned to my father. "Are you hearing this? Your son is using my daughter and he thinks it's just fine."

My father glared over at me and at once I could tell what he was thinking. I told you not to get involved with her. "Yes I heard" he said never taking his eyes off of me.

"I will not have this going on in my house" she hissed at no one in particular.

"This is not your house" I yelled at her. "Now let her go!"

I was about to step up and pull her away when Kathryn suddenly released herself from her mothers grasp. "Leave me alone! You don't know what your talking about!"

Tiffani's eyes narrowed in anger "of course I do. You will not go near Se-"

"I love him!" Kathryn screamed back at her.

As soon as the words were out of her mouth the whole room went into stunned silence but no one was more surprised then me. She loved me, she said it. That was what she was going to tell me when we were in bed I realized.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me" Kathryn told her firmly holding her ground. "I love Sebastian and he loves me and there's nothing you can do about it."

Tiffani chuckled coldly "oh I wouldn't count on that. Kathryn dear I took you to be smarter than this. The boy doesn't love you your just another pretty girl who will spread her legs for him." She shook her head at her daughter as if she was some pathetic creature "he's using you to stir up trouble."

"That's not true Kathryn I love you" I said looking at her.

Her eyes locked on mine and she gave me a small smile "I know."

"Oh please" Tiffani exclaimed as she whipped around to face me. "You love her? Well if this is anything like the fling you had with that white trash farm girl it should be over before it begins. You see Sebastian even if you weren't Kathryn's soon to be step brother I would still never let you anywhere near her. Your trash, trash in a designer suit plain and simple."

"Shut up!" Kathryn yelled at her "don't speak to him like that."

"Don't you dare tell me what to-"

"Your pathetic you know that" Kathryn hissed at her mother. "A pathetic, waste of space. You don't care about me or anyone else for that matter. The only thing you care about is yourself which is why no one has ever loved you. How could they?"

"I think Edward would beg to differ or your father for that matter."

"Please!" Kathryn hissed as she glanced at my father with disdain. "Edward's only marrying you for your money and your using him to boost your ego. Tell me how does it feel mother to know that the man who supposedly loves you can't keep it in his pants longer than ten minutes? He'll do anything that's young, tight and not you. Hell I bet if I gave him half a chance he would fuck me!"

"Watch it Kathryn" Tiffani warned.

However Kathryn was far from listening to her mothers threats. "I mean daddy certainly did." At that point the conversation reached the point of no return. I glanced over at my father who was in shock from the words that were coming out of 'sweet Kathryn's' mouth. However her last comment left him floored. "Don't worry mother Sebastian already knows but I bet Edward doesn't. Would you like me to tell him what that bastard did to me and how you looked the other way every single time-"

Before Kathryn could continue her rant Tiffani slapped her hard across the face making her daughter almost stumble back. "Now I have had enough out of you Kathryn understand? This thing with Sebastian" she glared at her harshly "is over with."

"You can't do anything about it" I told her.

She smiled "oh yes I can." Looking at my father she said "we're getting married."

My father nodded "if that's what you want dear."

"No!" I yelled at them.

Tiffani only smiled smugly and grabbed Kathryn once again by the arm. "There are a hundred people waiting for us at the park and we don't want to disappoint them." Looking pointedly at my father she said "Kathryn and I need to have a talk. We'll meet outside and hopefully we can put all this unpleasantness behind us."

As Tiffani pulled her daughter back to her room Kathryn looked over at me pleadingly. I started for them when my father pulled me away "this isn't the time Sebastian."

Watching Kathryn disappear into her mothers room I quickly pushed my father away. "You aren't seriously going to marry that women?"

"Sebastian" my father said sternly "I warned you how many times not to get involved with Kathryn? Why didn't you listen to me?"

"Don't fucking lecture me! You heard what Kathryn said about her and your still going to marry her?" I asked appalled

My father only sighed "rantings of a spoiled child. I'm quite familiar with that."

"She's telling the truth! But you don't care so long as you can squeeze out a few million from her psycho mother."

Suddenly my fathers relaxed manor changed "now see here Sebastian you have already tried to ruin this wedding once and I'm not going to let you do it again. Yes I am well aware you were behind those photos getting leaked to the press and I am not amused. I don't care if your in puppy love with this girl I'm telling you it ends now."

"And if I don't agree?" I growled

"Then I'll let Tiffani do as she will with you and if I know her you can forget ever seeing Kathryn again much less a relationship with her, understand?"

I really wasn't afraid of my fathers threat however what could I do. I knew I couldn't just grab Kathryn and run. At this point I wasn't even sure if I would ever be left alone with her again. Glancing at Tiffani's bedroom door I sighed and muttered "fine." The voice in my head said fine let them get married but I would never just let Kathryn go. Not in this lifetime.

"If anyone objects to this union speak now or forever hold your peace" the minister instructed the crowd.

I had never wanted to speak up more in my life. Glancing across the way at Kathryn I realized she was probably thinking the same thing. As soon as the minister said it I watched both my father and Tiffani stiffen. For a fleeting second I thought about objecting but then I remembered the consequences would be too dire. Instead the minister continued on and my eyes continued to remain on Kathryn's.

The ceremony was being held in Central Park with a crowd of a hundred or more guests watching this disaster take place. Following the wedding the reception would begin under the large white tent set up a few feet away. As I stared past Tiffani at her daughter I wondered if I would be able to talk to Kathryn at the party. I was guessing Tiffani would be spending a great deal of time making sure I couldn't. However I was determined not to let the ice bitch win. I loved Kathryn and for whatever reason she loves me and I wasn't going to let anyone ruin that.

My eyes locked with Kathryn's who was looking thoroughly depressed. The red mark Tiffani had left on her face was hardly noticeable any more but the pain in her eyes was glaringly apparent. I desperately wanted to make her feel better somehow but what could I do?

Suddenly I was awoken from my thoughts when the minister announced "I now pronounce you husband and wife." As the happy couple kissed the crowd erupted in applause. Everyone was smiling and clapping except for Kathryn and I who only stared at our parents disgusted. They soon pulled apart and then marched back down the isle hand in hand. The fellow groomsmen and I followed the bridesmaids to the reception.

Somehow in the midst of the crowd I managed to lose track of Kathryn. I asked my uncle David if he had seen her but he said no then headed for the bar. I myself wanted to follow his lead but now was not the time to get wasted. I had to talk to Kathryn.

The band had already begun playing and people started dancing. I guess Tiffani and my father decided to for go there first dance as a married couple. Actually I'm guessing they decided to skip lots of things like sharing the same bed and being faithful to one another. Shaking the thought away I made my way past the dance floor when I spotted Kathryn on the other side talking to some of the other brides maids. However before I could reach her I felt someone tug at my arm. "Sebastian have you met Rachel?"

Turning around I was greeted by my father and a beautiful young blond about my age. I glared at him coldly "no. I'm trying to-"

"Rachel this is my son Sebastian."

"I've heard all about you Sebastian" she purred.

"I bet you have" I muttered never taking my glare off of my father. I couldn't believe the bastard had the nerve to try to set me up when he knew I was in love with someone else.

Ignoring my glances he suggested "Why don't you two go dance."

"Actually I was-"

"Oh come on Sebastian" the pretty girl said taking my arm "I don't bite." Leaning into me she whispered "unless you want me to."

I rolled my eyes and followed her reluctantly onto the dance floor. As we began to move I looked over her shoulder and noticed Kathryn who was still talking to the group of girls. My eyes remained locked on her as I tried to ignore Rachel's voice. "So your father told me you just broke up with someone."

I looked down at her "did he?"

"Yeah break ups can be tough"

"Yes well we didn't exactly break up. My father just doesn't approve of her."

"Oh why's that?"

I shrugged "she just became my step sister."

"Huh?"

Looking up I noticed Kathryn was now alone and staring daggers at me and my dance partner. Actually she didn't look so much pissed as hurt. She watched us for a moment before setting her drink down on a tray and running out of the tent.

"Shit" I muttered pulling away from Rachel.

"What is it?"

"I have to go" I called to her as I pushed past the people of the dance floor and headed after Kathryn. Even though I didn't see her I knew where she was heading. Without a backwards glance I left the party and headed out of the park. Our townhouse was just across the street a little ways so I figured she would go there.

"Kathryn!" I called out as I entered the empty house. Immediately I headed towards her new bedroom located across the hall from mine. Approaching the door I could hear yells and cries coming from the other side. I quickly threw open the door and found Kathryn tarring the place a part. "Kathryn! Kathryn, what are you doing?"

She ignored me and yelled "where is it?"

"What?" I asked starting to worry.

"My cross!" She screamed throwing open drawers and dumping the contents out all over the place.

I knew she needed a coke fix but I also knew that now was most definitely not the time. "Kathryn no! Stop it" I yelled as I grabbed her. She struggled in my grasp but I held on. "Calm down" I whispered to her "you don't need that."

Kathryn pulled away from me yelling "leave me alone!"

"Is this about that girl? Because I didn't want to dance with her. My father set-"

"No it's not about some moronic girl!" She screamed as she turned around to face me. "This is never going to work Sebastian. I thought if we could just stop the wedding we might have a chance but it's over with."

I quickly wrapped my arms around her "no it's not. I love you Kathryn I don't care if they're married or not. Your mother can't hurt us."

Kathryn nodded her head as tears began to form in her eyes. "Yes she can!"

"Then let's just leave right now" I suggested without a second thought.

"We can't because she's sending me away!"

I pulled back a little stunned "what? Where?"

Kathryn shrugged helplessly "either boarding school or rehab." She laughed coldly "she told me before the ceremony that she's sending me away for good until I'm eighteen. If I'm not 'over' you by then she's cutting me off."

"Christ" I whispered.

"It gets better. If you try to go near me she's going to throw you in jail for statutory rape and assault. So you see once again my mother wins. She wins" she exclaimed as her voice broke.

Then something happened that I thought I would never live to see. Kathryn began to cry. Not the fake tears she used to manipulate people but real honest to god tears. As she sobbed I wrapped my arms around her and we fell back against the bed. For once in my life I was at a loss. I could deal with bitchy Kathryn, or angry Kathryn but I didn't know how to deal with this side of her. I ached to make her feel better.

Holding her to me I whispered "your mother hasn't won, not yet."

Kathryn pulled away and whipped her eyes "what do you mean?"

At the time I didn't have a plan but there was no way I was going to let anyone take her away from me. "Your not gone yet. I don't care what I have to do but your not leaving me."
