under the Act of 1818, of which the

evidence is on record (and I now enclose evidence

on that subject),  And after all his

children but one were born, on himself

and wife making a Profession of Religion, and he

intending to take orders in the Baptist

Church, being as he was an Educated

Indian—in order that no objections might

be made to his ministry by either whites

or Indians.  Where he intended to remove

to, to wit:  South Carolina, he thought fit,

to have their marriage solemnized according

to the form of the Baptist Church of

the white man, although they themselves

had lived together as man and wife according

to the laws and customs of their Tribe for

12 or 15 years.  This second marriage

has nothing to do with the legality of the

first marriage.  It was consequent

when a change of Religion.  If a man

goes to Turkey, and becomes a

Mahimetan, would a second marriage

these, annul and render illegal the

marriage here according to Christian
