We the undersigned citizens of York District
South Carolina, from our personal knowledge and
acquaintance with Elizabeth Mursh take pleasure
in certifying that she is a woman of excellent char-
acter and standing in this community—and we
have no hesitation in giving full credit to any
statement she has made in the foregoing dec-
laration – her husband died as she has stated,
the 7th of December 1838 – and she has remained
a widow ever since July 18, 1843. John Springs
