About Mudpie

Mudpie is the code name for the new game Cyan worlds is creating. Sometimes referred to as, 'Parable' by the staff at Cyan, and now called, "Myst Online" this game will likely change computer gaming.

Mudpie will be a broadband-required game that is placed in the MYST universe at present day. The player will be put in D'ni and will be able to interact with others that play online too.

Not only will you be able to be in D'ni but also other ages. After a while Cyan will start adding ages into the game to explore.

One distinction that should be made. Mudpie is not MYST 4 but a totally separate game that is only placed in the MYST universe.

Plans for the release date are not certain but could be as early as this year.

The 3D technology used by Cyan will be similar to that of RealMYSTs only much better. It may take larger computers to play this game than most fans have.

With the risk of only broadband users playing this game it may be even riskier having this game so big, but that's what Cyan is known for. Back in '93 when almost no one owned a cd rom Cyan came out with MYST and nearly everyone added a cd rom to their computer. So Cyan is used to taking risks. We can only hope they end up on the good side of this risk too.

Mudpie will also have voice over technology that will allow players to talk to one another over the net.

Recently a secret easter egg in the Mac version of MYST masterpiece was revealed to show a screen shot from Mudpie. No one had ever found it until recently. The screen shot is shown below.
