| Those of you who have met me may not think I am qualified to speak on the topic of peace, but really, I'm a peaceful person at heart. Unless you put a sword in my hand. Or commit some sort of wrong that can be redressed with a fist. I am a Certified Massage Therapist, and received my certification in February, 2000 from the Medical Arts Massage School in Raleigh, NC. The school was founded by a Physical Therapist, Jerry Goynias, who wanted to see massage therapists with a strong medical foundation. Upon graduation, I worked with a variety of types of clients in several different settings. I worked independently, seeing clients in their home or my home, at a salon, and in a health center, working closely with two physical therapists and other health care professionals. My specialty is helping people with fibromyalgia or chronic pain syndrome. In addition to my massage training, I have learned about a variety of other alternative therapies including kiatsu, acupressure, aromatherapy, vibrational healing, intuitive healing and Reiki. I am a certified Reiki Practicioner Level II. My Reiki lineage is available upon request. I am also currently certified in First Aid and CPR by the Red Cross. Update: The last three years have been tumultuous, and I have not truly pursued my healing as a career. I have instead focused on my martial arts, and myself. Finally, a month ago I realized that I needed to commit to healing myself...and others. So I have returned to school to expand upon my training. More on this on the Scholar page. |
