Enzo Ferrari Rosso Corsa
Pros: Much cheaper than the Japanese version, One piece body much easier to assemble, decent detail on engine and interior.
Cons:
Some fit issues in places, body fit to chassis somewhat poor without chassis modification, taillights difficult to work with...
This was the first model I built after a long hiatus from the hobby. I built it in only 1 days, so much of it in my opinion is sloppy. The body was done in Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red, sanded and polished, my first experience with doing such a thing. The rest of it was done in Model Master acrylics and metalizers.
From the rear you can see the engine hatch didn't fit all that well. Maybe the body was slightly warped and I didn't notice it? The taillights are a three color affair on the real car, but the lenses being molded in transparent red didn't help with detail painting, making it tough to paint the amber and clear parts. The rear grille is made of screen mesh a plus over the clear part in some other kits.
The engine was well detailed straight from the box. Everything was painted either in Testors aluminum metalizer or semi-gloss black. The cam covers are the same red as the body. If I had had more experience when I built this car, I would have added all of the carbon fiber and foil insulation that would normally be here.
