| Kit: AMT Pros: Decent detail. Also the only '72 on the market and the only LT-1 version available. Cons: Body was difficult to work with, lots of seams needed bodywork, windshield frame was broken and required substantial work, along with the body being warped. Also no emblem decals is a minus in my book. This was a year and a half long project. I really wanted a '72 in my collection, and this AMT kit was it. Unfortunately, the kit's detail is great, but overall molding quality is horrible! Mold lines and flash were all over the place along with the body being one of the worst I have ever pulled out of a box. All problems aside, it turned out to be a decent looking finished product that won 2nd place in the autos at it's most recent show. |

| On both ends, the bumpers were awful. I had to strip, sand, and fill them before recoating them with Alclad II chrome. I added a radio antenna made from fine wire with the base coming from the Revell '67 Vette. I had origionally planned to add the luggage rack to the back, but is was just too ugly and would've ruined the whole car. | ||||||||||||||||||

| The interior was painted Tamiya Desert Sand from the spray can. I flocked the floorboards and added a whole heap of extra details. The window cranks are from the Revell '59 Impala and do alot for the realisim factor. I also added seatbelts and buckles from Deatail Master and I photo reduced an owners manual and threw it in the passengers seat. | ||||||||||||||||||

| The engine was built to factory specs. I added just about every visible line, wire, and hose found on the real car. I used Detail Master wire in various thicknesses, rubber hose, solder, and 28 gauge florists wire throughout. Assembling the engine alone took three months. I also added photoetched hose clamps in several places from the MCG set. | ||||||||||||||||||
