| Tournament Rules | ||||
| 1.� Playing Times:� All games will have a ten minute warm-up period.� The game will consist of two sixteen minute halves and a five minute half-time.� The clock only stops for timeouts, injuries, and free throws, and the last 2 minutes of the second half if the game is within 12 points. | ||||
| 2. �Overtime: Tournament games will have a two minute overtime period.� Each team will be given one time-out. | ||||
| 3. Developmental Game: All players must play in the developmental game to ensure growth as a team and for each individual player. Games will have the same rules and time limit as tournament games. | ||||
| 4. Technical and Flagrant Fouls: Will result in automatic 2 points and ball out of bounds.� Coaches will be fined $15 dollars for a technical foul.� They will not be allowed to coach the following game until the fine is paid.� Coaches will be fined $5 for a player technical or flagrant foul and that player will not be allowed to continue until the fine is paid.� Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. | ||||
| 5.� Lopsided Game: No full court pressing with a lead of 20 points or more.� If in the second half a team leads by 20 or more points the clock will continue to run, even if the lead slips below 20. | ||||
| 6.� Players: Players must be 15 years or younger and presently attending a middle school or junior high school.� Each coach� must present a current signed roster from a school administrator.� Any player found in violation of the rules will result in a forfeit of all games of that team.� | ||||
| 7.� Complaints: $25 protest fee.� All complaints or protests need to be in writing and taken up with the tournament director.� Reports need to be made to the gym supervisor who will inform the tournament director. | ||||
| 8 Entry Fee: A non-refundable deposit of $150 will be due by March 12 at 7:30 AM. Teams may also mail in their whole entry fee on any day before March 12. Please make chacks payable to: CORTEZ AAU BOYS BASKETBALL | ||||
| 9. Bookkeeper: Each team is responsible for their own bookeeper to track the score and fouls. A scorer will be provided by the tournament. | ||||
