a Canadiens Fan
I accept
that the dollar has sunk and the league has been watered down
I accept
that the taxes are higher
I accept
that the salaries are growing faster than the players’ skills
I accept
the fact that all the previous 24 Stanley Cups wins can't help us make
it into the playoffs this year or the next
I accept
the fact that we are the most demanding, fanatical, passionate fans that
boo at the drop of a hat and have run more than one player out of town
for no apparent reason
I accept
the fact that it takes time to rebuild a team
BUT...
I DO
NOT accept standing pat while others pass
us by
I DO
NOT accept the jokes and the put downs from
columnist for other teams that have passed us by
I DO
NOT accept the excuse that Molson has no money
I DO
NOT accept the fall of one of the greatest
sports franchises in history
I DO
NOT accept the fact that we have missed the
playoffs for the past two years and some say everything will be ok
I DO
NOT accept the excuse that no one is willing
to trade a goal scorers as I watch Gilmour, Primeau, Bure join new teams
I DO
NOT accept the fact that we have now gone
more than 7 years without a cup
I will
not accept this current state to continue
I will
not accept sitting at home Sat nights and
watching the Leafs vs Sens on CBC
I will
not accept another year without the playoffs
I will
not accept a summer without a free agent signing
or a trade for a Selanne type player
I will
not accept the departure of Shayne Corson
arguably the heart and soul of this team
I will
not accept any more excuses about how it was
all injuries
I will
not accept sitting by while teams like Tampa
Bay get better
I will
not accept someone saying we can't turn things
around when Ottawa had 24 points one year and now are ahead of us
I will
not accept another big slow defenseman from
Kamloops being our number one draft pick
I will
not accept players that only show up when
they feel like it
I will
not accept firing Alain Vigneault
I will
not accept mediocrity any longer
I will
only accept a fast, competitive team
I will
only accept making the playoffs
I will
only accept respect from the other teams in the league
I will
only accept spending the money and doing what it takes to win
I will
only accept the best
And
if you can't deliver Rejean Houle then get me someone who can
Because
I AM A CANADIENS FAN, and that is what I deserve.
