| Ok so we started cat disections a while ago. I was traumatized at first, but i think im dealing with it well. When they skin cats they remove all of the fur excluding the fur on the head, tail, and paws. Her paws resemble boxing gloves, so we named her Rocky. Rocky has to be the coolest decomposing cat ever. Everyday we unwrap her and poke at her with rusty equipment. Welcome to Anatomy and Physiology honors, where blatent disrespect for life, and education go hand in hand. Besides having the most neato-rific feline, I probably have the most amazing group ever. Amy, Brandon, Vickesh, and I make disecting a cat look like...well...complete nonsense. The muscles all look alike, so its literally a stab in the dark. According to Mr. Kaplan the objective is to use the lines on the muscles to tell the difference between them. riiiiiiiiight. Maybe I'll put some pictures of Rocky up soon. I think I'm attatched, and we've only done the muscles so far. i can't wait for the intestines. |

| We opened up the cat this week. After taking a group picture with rocky we opened the abdominal cavity exposing the digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems. shes not pregnant (thank gods). none of the cats were pregnant this year. she didnt eat very much. she was probably a stray cat, because everyone else's cat had more fat, and stuff in the intestines. we had to break the ribs to get to the thorasic cavity....that sucked. josh inserted a straw into the trachea of his group's cat and blew. we saw the lungs expand. josh has good ideas sometimes. i mean it was really gross....but it was cool. The hearts are about the same size as the sheep hearts that we disected a while ago. the liver is weird, and when you poke a hole in it the hole disapears. i get the pictures back on tuesday night. ill put them up. ill proabably take more. later. |

| hi, anyone weird enough to still be reading this. lately we havent really been doing to much. the fun part is pretty much over and now we're focusing on learning the rediculous names of the muscles, veins, and arteries. While trying not to sound arrogant I'd like to remind you that the muscles, veins, and arteries are basically one big muscle, vein, and artery given a million different names by a million egotistical scientists. Arrogance it is. Hey here is a picture with the five of us. later. |

| yey, we're completely and totally done. ok here's the bad news. i failed my lab practical. he curved it like 15 points and i still have an F. Its got to be my worst grade ever, lovely. ok i guess thats it for rocky. i had to write something about her cause otherwise i dont think id believe it actually happened in a couple years. its one of those really disgusting things that served no purpose. as i said...i failed my lab practical...so basically i poked a cat for a month and a half for no reason. great huh? oh well i got a higher F than brandon :) |
