"Talk On Corners" (TOC), the eagerly anticipated
follow up album from their stunning debut, Forgiven Not Forgotten, was
well received through the world and more importantly opened up and reconfirmed
their status as a real talent with fresh and catchy tunes to offer after
their first album. Debuting in the number 1 position in the Australian
charts and much of Europe/Asia, the chart performance of this album
was again a success.
The first single released off the album was "Only
When I Sleep", a very different style of song that the Corrs have
released, demonstrating their depth and creativity as musicians. A much
more contempory rock song with a harder edge and more electric elements.
The subsequent songs released were: "I Never Loved You Anyway",
"Dreams", "What Can I Do (remixed version)" and
"So Young".
"TOC" did indicate a small change for the Corrs
in their musical writing, where their first album was darker and "rockier",
"TOC" is "lighter", there are of course exceptions
to this with "No Good For Me", "Queen Of Hollywood"
and "Intimacy", but the general feel of the album was more
uplifting than that of "FNF". The sound production and arrangements
are also quite different from their first offering.
