The Corrs first album was released at the end of 1995.
Titled, Forgiven Not Forgotten (FNF), it took Australia, Asia and parts
of Europe by storm. With it's fresh sensibility of pop, rock and folk,
the infectious melodies generated by the Corrs caught the public's immediate
attention. This debut album was not so much pop, as the general tone
of the songs had a darker edge. Songs like "Someday", and
"Closer" demonstrate this.
FNF went on to become one of Australia's highest selling
albums of all time, selling 1,024,000 copies and finishing 8 times platinum.
The single that brought this album and the band to the public's eyes
was "Runaway", a beautiful melodic ballad, that stayed in
the Australian ARIA charts for the majority of a year and sat neatly
in the top 20 for its lifetime.
With the wave of success from this first single, brought
"Forgiven Not Forgotten", their second single (which the album
was named after), which also enjoyed commercial success. Following,
"Love to Love You", "The Right Time" and "Closer"
were also released to the market. The Corrs were firmly planted in the
Australian market.
