The following poem is written by a very special young lady I have had the privilege of getting to know via e-mail. I know that this poem will be a blessing to all who read it - for it comes from the heart.

I sit through each class
just letting the day pass
wondering what the point of it was
the days never seem long
but I know it's all wrong
as I watch what everyone does

We live and we die
and all I can do is ask "why?"
knowing the answer will never be found
We search for conclusions
but find only dilutions
with minds that will never be sound

We say we love Jesus
but just do the things that please US
How could He ever love us back?
We give Him our life
filled with little more than strife
then pray for all that we lack

Sometimes I hate the life I live
I just don't see how You forgive
My reason for living rests in You
so I let it all soak in
until I'm completely broken
knowing there is nothing I can do

So many times I feel alone
and all I want is to go home
and let You hold me in you embrace
when will it all pass?
I know this can't last
I only wish that I knew my place

All I want is love
but when push comes to shove
I know this world is full of nothing but hate
If I could put ALL my trust in You
and let You do what You do
then maybe I wouldn't be in this state

I know You love me
so unconditionally
but sometimes it's too hard to comprehend
So my sorrow becomes my song
a story that's gotten too long
filled with pain that seems never to end

I need You to love me, Lord
with the blood that was poured
for my life that I've wasted on me
So please give me the grace
to finish this race
I want to do Your will, whatever it may be
