"How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked ... But his delight is in the law of the LORD and in His law he meditates day and night.  And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields it's fruit in its season."  Psalm 1: 1-3

Blessed is the man who delights in the law of the LORD; this person has contentment, joy and security which is found only in God's word.  "And in His law, he meditates day and night." The word for meditate here means to be in continuous, contemplative thought.

He's like a tree firmly planted, by steams of water ... like a tree carefully cultivated. He flourishes and does well because he is close to his lively hood - God (law) thus he prospers accordingly; not as the world sees but in his spiritual walk, his profession is true and is consistent, and his faith is shown by his works.

In our spiritual walk we must be "firmly planted" near our stream of Living Water, Jesus.

Charles Stanley once wrote and asked three important questions, that we should ask ourselves, that reveal the level of success we can handle. They are:

1. Do you seek God's wisdom and guidance for the challenges facing you?

2. Do you rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you?

3. Do you say no to the temptations that have the potential to detour your devotion to Christ?

If we will devote our hearts to God, our spiritual walk will be fruitful. Be willing to wait for His timing and you will receive a tremendous blessing. Also, decide not to give way to feelings of doubt, disbelief, discouragement and fear.  Let Philippians 4:8 be your guideline along with these promises of the LORD:

- doubt is sin (Rom. 14:23)

- don't worry (Phil. 4:6; Matt. 6:25-34)

- don't be afraid (Ps. 56:11; 1 John 4:18)

- I (Jesus) am with you always (Matt. 28:20)

Remember - even though the tree is right next to the stream, it still must wait for the proper season to yield it's fruit. So it is with our walks, we must wait on the LORD's perfect timing in all we do - and do it to His glory.

Have a joyous day in our Lord!
