"Do not remember the former
things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now
it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in
the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18,19
When I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus something wonderful
happened. The old me began to change. Second Corinthians 5:17
describes it best, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old
things have passed away; behold all things have become new." My language,
temperament, out look on life and mannerisms began to change, drastically.
After a few months I found myself no longer desiring to smoke and, by the
grace of God, gave it up. My family, needless to say, took full note of
this change in mom.
The LORD tells us, through Isaiah, not to
"remember the former things, nor consider the things of old." He went on
to say that He (the LORD) would do a "new thing".
He also promises that He will "make a road in the wilderness and rivers in
the desert."
Though I make my share of wrong choices in this life
I choose to cling to this promise of our LORD, "I will
even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." He will not
leave me without direction nor will He let me go in thirst; He has given
us Living Water. He has shown me first hand how faithful He is, even when
I am unfaithful. Why? Because He cannot deny Himself (2 Tim.
2:13).
Beloved, during your times of trial and testing, remember and
cling to the "new thing" He's sprung forth in your life and hang on to His
promise, "I (the LORD) will even make a road in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert." He loves you and will do as He has
said, He won't leave you without direction nor water to quench your
thirst. Take time daily to refresh yourself in His Living Water,
Jesus.
Have a joyous day in our
Lord!
April
