"Look at the birds of the air,
that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your
heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
Matt. 6:26
About a week ago we received three inches of much needed rain. Early
the second morning it was raining, while washing the morning dishes, I heard a
choir of birds singing their thanks to the Creator for the rain. When I
looked out my window I saw our large Magnolia tree loaded with sparrows,
chickadees and I could see the red of a Cardinal; all of them singing joyfully
as they enjoyed each rain drop. I too, was thankful for the rain, and
thought on how faithful the Lord is to meet all of our needs and yet, most of
the time, I forget His faithfulness and find myself becoming ensnared
in worry. But these little birds did not worry before we got the
rain, for the Lord provided for them, through me, as I weekly fill the feeders
and place water in the containers.
Matt. 6:33-34 exhorts us to, "seek first His kingdom and His
righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you, therefore, do not be
anxious for tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has
enough trouble of its own." The Lord cares for us as He cares for
these sweet little birds, yet many times we allow the worries of the world to
overcome us. He is always been faithful to provide for all of our
needs. Did you note the condition though? We must seek
Him and His righteousness first.
Let us keep at the front of our mind how we are, in the eyes of our
Creator, worth much more than they.
Have a joyous day in our
Lord!
April
