"The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
the righteous run into it and are
safe"
Proverbs 18:10
We just started the Bible study, "Lord, I
want to know You" (on the various names of God) by Kay Arthur. As I
study to share what the Lord has shown me through His word I am in awe of the
character and attributes His names reveal about Him.
Proverbs 18:10 reveals a most wonderful
truth about the LORD's name - it's a strong tower. A
place to run into and be safe. "Safe from what?" You may ask. Safe
from trouble, worry, fear or hurts from past and/or present. Who are the
"they" that run into The strong tower? The righteous. That's you (if
Jesus is your Savior and Lord) and me, beloved. Isn't it wonderful to
know that God loves us so much that He not only died and arose again for us but
that He also is our strong tower, that we may run into Him and be safe in
all circumstances that come our way.
However, there are a few important
questions we need to ask ourselves first; answer yourself
honestly. Who do you turn to in time of trouble, worry or
fear? Do you run to your nearest friend or relative to be safe
rather than run into the name of the LORD, who is a strong tower?
Why?
To be continued ...
Have a joyous day in our
Lord!
