Early Monday morning (6/7/99) my husband, Jerry, was called out
to the scene of a fatality accident; Jerry is an SAPD detective. Jerry
recognized the name on the drivers' license of the man who had died. His name
was Marcel, Chris's uncle (Chris and his wife Jennifer are friends of ours and
had left the Sunday evening before for a Bible Conference in Tucson AZ.).
Marcel didn't die from the accident, he died because he had a seizure and
lost control of the car. Chris had been praying for his uncle Marcel's salvation
for years. Marcel had rejected God all his life. Upon hearing the news in
Tucson of Marcel's death, Chris was devastated.
Saturday (6/12) morning
was the funeral. Chris was present, as were all his relatives. Chris's aunt
approached him and told him that the Sunday evening before the accident, Marcel
had gone to church with her and had accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and
Savior. Chris's aunt said Marcel was truly repentant and was weeping and
thanking God and thanking her for taking him to church that evening and for his
salvation. It was that following Monday morning (not 12 hours later) that Marcel
passed into eternity.
God is so faithful.
