"For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong."  1 Cor. 1:26-27

The Lord delights in taking the foolish and weak (in the eyes of the world) to accomplish His will; to the shame of the wise and strong.  Yet so often, when we step out in faith to do what the Lord has called us to do, we end up trying to do His work in our own strength.  Often times we don't understand, or see, what has happened.  What we see is that what we once loved doing isn't as much fun anymore and seems more like work rather than the fun and excitement it once was.

While reading the book "The Wonderful Spirit Filled Life", by Charles Stanley, I recently read a part on doing "God's work God's way" and was inspired to share with you the following five characteristics I believe you will find helpful in your walk; they are in mine.  You'll know you're working in the right direction, His, when these five things are true.

When I do God's work God's way . . .

- I will be convinced that if God doesn't come through, my project is bound to fail.
- I will view God as my only source for everything I need.
- I will look for evidences of God's supernatural intervention.
- I will not be stressed out.
- I will spend more time thanking and praising God than requesting things from Him.

One question to ask yourself is, "Am I operating in God's strength or my own?"  I encourage you to write down and place these five characteristics in a place where you can look at them throughout the day.  Use this simple tool to help you do God's work God's way.

I love being a foolish and weak vessel (and believe me I am).  So, from one of the foolish and weak to you all ...

Have a most joyous day in our Lord!

Prayer request:
The Lord has laid on our heart to add an area (like a MIDI) of the songs He's inspired me to write.  This requires additional equipment and software.  Please pray for wisdom.  Your prayers are greatly appreciated.
