When we allow ourselves to be crucified (die to self) with Christ, we allow Christ to live in us and we no longer have the desire to walk in the flesh, because we choose to live by faith (trust) in Jesus who, because He loves us, delivered Himself up for us. He gave Himself for us and we are now saved from the bitter pains of eternal death.

Oswald Chambers once said, "A sanctified soul may be an artist, or a musician; but he is not a sanctified artist or musician; he is one who expresses the message of God through a particular medium. As long as the artist or musician imagines he can consecrate his artistic gifts to God, he is deluded. Abandonment of ourselves is the kernel of consecration, not presenting our gifts, but presenting ourselves without reserve to Christ."

May we never forget that we are called forward, by the Holy Spirit, to express the message of God through the medium of (homemaker, student, businessmen, you fill in the blank). Let us resist the enemies delusions that may cause us to think we are sanctified because of this calling.  We must Romans 12:1-2 along with dying to self moment by moment; being crucified with Christ, no longer live for ourselves.

Let our focus be living a life sold-out for the Lord Jesus, presenting ourselves wholeheartedly to Him.
