"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD and whose trust is the LORD.  For he will
be like a tree planted by the water, that extends its roots by a stream and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a
year of drought nor cease to yield fruit."    Jeremiah 17: 7,8

I left the house to join a friend for breakfast.  As I made my left onto the road my headlights came upon my best bud, Cali (my calico cat).  She'd been hit by a car.  I look at her lifeless body and thought, "oh, Cali." and batted back tears.  "Okay, Lord" I thought, "This is the day You have made I will rejoice and be glad in it."  At that moment a great peace came upon me.   I pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant and observed that I was the first car, "Wow, fresh coffee!" I thought.  A worker kept looking in my direction as he headed toward the back entrance.  I started to get out of my car and notice that the "OPEN" sign was not on.  At that moment the worker started toward me, "Ma'am, we don't open till 7:30." he said.  I looked at him very confused, "Well, what time is it?"  I glanced at my watch to see 6:25 a.m.  I looked at him, red faced I'm sure, thanked him, started the car and headed back home.  As I made the turn onto our road I remembered Cali and knew I'd have to contend with burying her (John was out-of-town) and thought, "Lord, help me please."  As I got close to my driveway I looked for little Cali's body but couldn't find it anywhere.  After finding evidence that someone had gone from room to room in my house with her.  I called my mom's, who lives next door, and she informed me that my step-dad had buried her for me; his grandson had found her on his way to the bus stop.  I thanked the Lord and Charlie for taking care of the situation for me.

I went back to enjoy a nice breakfast and fellowship with my friend and headed off for a follow-up routine non-fasting blood work my doctor had ordered.  As I handed the lab technician my paper work he asked, "Have you eaten anything since last night?"  Looking at him very puzzled I replied, "Why, yes I have."  to which he responded, "has it been less than six hours?  Because this blood work calls for a fasting of at least six hours."  I paused and prayed "Lord, help me please." Then I looked at the young man and informed him I didn't realize that it was a fasting blood work and that I had eaten recently.  I made arrangement's to come back.  On the way out to the car I broke out into laughter.  People stopped and looked at me but I just kept laughing.  What a day!  and it wasn't even noon.

Beloved, I share this with you to let you know it's very important that we make time to spend with Jesus.  We must make Him the priority and seek Him first thing in the morning.  Had I not made my time with Jesus my priority, to start my day, I would have handled the situations not the Lord.  In each situation I had put my trust in knowing He would help me deal with the events.   More importantly was the fact that I had made Him my priority and had gotten my roots well watered which prepared me for the heat of the day.  Please know, Beloved, I too have had days where I allowed Satan to rob my time with Jesus.   We MUST make the effort.  He will wake you if you ask- I know this first hand as I ask Him often and He is faithful to do so every time; I, however, must be the one to get out of the bed and go meet with Him.

I encourage you, beloved of God, to make your time with Jesus a priority that you may get your roots well watered, daily, that you may be prepared for the heat of the day as well.  And don't let the enemy rip you off by stealing this precious time from you with business, tiredness and lack of concentration.

Have a joyous day in our Lord!
April
