"Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
(Joshua 1:9)

Let us never forget that we serve a Holy God.  Our Creator demands holiness of our lives, yet we CHOOSE to be obedient or not.  God gave us free will.  Adam and Eve used their free will in the garden (Genesis 3: 1-7).  Nabad and Abihu used their free will to offer up strange fire they were told not to do (Leviticus 10: 1-7).  And Ananias with his wife, Sapphira, out of greed, choose to be deceitful and lie to God about a monetary donation (Acts 5:1-11).  All reaped the consequences of their choice.  Though I don't know of any instances where the Lord still goes around today physically slaying His people as He did with Nabad, Abihu, Ananias and Sapphira to name a few. We do, however, die a "spiritual death" which creates separation from the Father; Adam and Eve where the first to die this death.   This is broken fellowship.  We still have a relationship with the Father (we are still His child), though the enemy is quick to hide this from our minds making us think, "I've blown it for good this time.  God will never forgive me nor listen to my prayers... ."  Know, beloved that God does hear the prayer of a truly repentant heart and will answer, thus fellowship will be restored; in 1 John 1:9 He promises us.  Only God truly satisfies the hunger (emptiness) within us.  Yet the pull of the world can be so enticing.  This is why the Lord warns' us that, "... Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. ... his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness ..." (2 Cor. 11:14,15)  if we could see him and his servants as they truly are then we'd most likely have nothing to do with the temptation situations.

Beloved, CHOOSE to live a holy life unto the Lord.  Yes you will have times of temptation, trials, persecution .... but ahead of you everlasting life the others are lessons to build up our perseverance and faith ... to spur us on to live like Christ Jesus.

Memorize this promise, "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."  (Joshua 1:9) it has helped me many a times.  I'm not perfected by any means but I am aware that our Sovereign Lord is with me at all times ready to help me.  All I have to do is CHOOSE to set aside my pride, admit I need His help, then remember that I don't need to fear for He truly is with me wherever I go.

Have a wonderful day in the Lord!
April
