"Let Love of the brethren continue."
Hebrews 13:1

This beginning statement is followed by five exhortations with God's promise that we're never left on our own.

    -  We are not to "neglect to be hospitable" (v. 2)

    - Remember those imprisoned and the ill treated brethren; the persecuted (v. 3)

    - Let the marriage be held in honor and its bed be undefiled (v. 4)

    - Beloved, don't love money; rather be content with what you have (v. 5)

    - Remember your church leaders and imitate their (godly) faith (v. 7)

Jesus, Himself had said, "I will never leave nor forsake you (v. 5) so we can confidently say, "The LORD is my helper, I will not be afraid.  What shall man do to me?" (v. 6)

We have Jesus' promise that He is always with us.  He is our helper so we have no need to fear.  Man may be able to kill our body (if God allows it to be so, for He is sovereign) but Jesus said, "fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body ..."  (Matt. 10:28)

Let us be followers of these exhortations and cling to His promises.  The world will see the fruit of our faithfulness, and the Light will shine brightly through us.

Have a joyous day in our Lord!
April
