"Pray without ceasing"
1 Thess. 5:17

During the three month stay of our daughter and grandchildren I knew that the Lord planned to strengthen my walk and dependency on Him.  I prayed that in some way the Lord would teach them to rely more on Him in their daily walk; I prayed this mostly for my daughter as she is struggling in her walk.

The Lord, being faithful, opened plenty of doors for the testing and strengthening of my faith and the opportunity to live being "a doer of the word"; of which I wasn't always successful.  The Lord had really impressed upon my heart the need to rely on Him and I was to live my relationship with Him before them.  During these little times of trial, rather than react to my flesh, I got down on my knees with the applicable child (or my daughter) and began to pray for the Lord Jesus to help us during the time of difficulty.  This went on for the three months they where here.

Toward the end of their stay the Lord showed me how Leah had caught on and realized that before we go to bed - pray, before we eat - pray and give thanks, and when in trouble turn to the Lord in prayer.   One morning Leah came to me while I was making breakfast, she took my hand and led me to Michael, who was in the other room crying; he wasn't feeling well and was very hungry.  When we got into the room Leah, still holding onto my hand, took Michael's hand and said to me, "Oma, lets pray."

The Lord desires that we seek Him on a continual basis; even for the little things.  To pray without ceasing means that we seek God in everything; it's a perpetual attitude of dependency on Him and His direction for us in our daily lives.

May we catch on as quickly as little Leah, realizing that every time is a good time to stop and pray to the One who loves and cares for us; even the tiniest detail in our lives.

Have a joyous day in our Lord!
